As far as eligibility is concerned, any individual, firm or company engaged in this industry, predominantly in manufacturing of goods using leather, allied synthetic fabrics or Canvas, or suppliers of various services or fabrics or components to these manufacturers for agricultural, automotive, marine, industrial, commercial, domestic or recreational use can apply for membership.

Membership Cost and Mode of Payment
There is a tiered fee structure for membership which is based on the average number of employees in the business.
Businesses with up to 5 employees need to pay $510, up to 15 employees need to pay $855 and more than 16 employees need to pay $1155. The association also offers associate as well as affiliate memberships. The rate for associate membership is $160 and for affiliate membership it is currently $190.
The payment for membership can be made by credit card or PayPal.
Difference between Affiliate and Associate Membership
Any individual, company or firm that is not eligible for full membership of the association but who are interested in the objectives of Association and are otherwise eligible for admission can apply for an associate membership of the Association.
Any individual, company or firm that is member of another organisation which is affiliated with STA (as determined by Council) is eligible to apply for membership as an affiliate. The applicant cannot be a current or past member of the Association.
The affiliate and associate members are not eligible to vote on any meetings of the Association and also have limited access to various other benefits offered by association to the full members.
Time of Membership
All the existing memberships of STA expire by 31st of March annually. Length of membership is determined on pro rata basis depending on the time of joining the association.
Is There a Best Time to Join STA?
You can apply for membership at any time of the year. A pro-rata membership will apply in case you join the Association between July 1 and March 31.
Process after Joining
Once the application is submitted, it is processed and approved by Management Council. On approval, you will be sent an e-mail confirmation from our office regarding your membership. In addition to this e-mail, members also receive a membership pack that contains the Confirmation Letter, Membership Certificate as well as the username and password to be used for accessing the member’s only areas on the website.
